Take a Break

Spending a day at a theme park like Disney World is a lot of fun, but it can be exhausting as well. It’s typically very warm, and there is a lot of walking around and standing in long lines. It is important to find time to take short breaks. This is why the People mover is one of my favorite rides.

The People mover is a slow-moving ride that tops out at around 6 miles per hour. It’s not super exciting. It doesn’t move fast. But it provides cover from the sun, and a chance to rest your legs while it takes you throughout a portion of the Magic Kingdom. It is a nice and relaxing ride, perfect for someone who needs a break from the heat of the day.

We all need to take a break every once in a while. But this isn’t easy for everyone. We live in a fast paced world and many believe that if we are not constantly moving then we are not being productive. Some of us have to force ourselves to slow down every so often.

But it’s okay to take a break and rest. In fact we are following God’s example when we do.

“2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. “   Genesis 2:2-3

God rested from His work on the seventh day, and He made it holy. And Jesus rested too (Matt. 8:24). Knowing that even God rested from His work, it seems crazy that we would try to push ourselves to go without rest. We were not made to go nonstop. I hope that we all remember to set some time aside to rest and enjoy the moment.
