There’s a Psalm for that
There was a popular catchphrase used for marketing smart phones +10 years ago which simply said, “There’s an app for that.” These commercials would depict people in certain scenarios with some random need and then celebrate that their problems could be fixed by downloading a simple app on their phone. No matter what your need might be, there is already an app to help with that.
Well, in the life of a Christian I can confidently say no matter what your problem might be, There’s a Psalm for that. Right in the middle of each Bible exists 150 powerful pieces of poetic scripture all with a unique offering to help guide us in life. People have categorized the Psalms in many different ways, but my favorite comes from an Old Testament scholar who grouped them as Psalms of: Orientation, Disorientation, and Reorientation. No matter if you feel like you’re on the right path, off the path completely, or recently returning there’s a Psalm ready to speak to your situation. So let me encourage you to familiarize yourself with these ancient songs. Immerse yourself in them today so that you’ll be fed regardless of where life takes you.
