Leveling Up
We have had a lot of things going on in our children’s ministry lately. We had VBS at the end of July, we recently celebrated the students moving up into new classes, and we have our annual day of prayer for students and teachers coming up a week from today.
The reason that these things are so important to us is because we know how important it is to train up our kids. We all start somewhere in terms of our knowledge and our faith. It is important to help the kids to form and grow their foundation of knowledge and faith in God.
“Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.” Proverbs 22:6
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” Matthew 7:24-27
We will continue to do our best to follow Jesus’ example by making the spiritual formation of the kids a priority. And we will do our best to make it fun for them when we can (leveling up instead of just moving up).
